I’m a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in tax planning & preparation, financial management, and business consulting for individuals and business entities. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, helping them navigate complex financial challenges and achieve their goals.
I’ve owned and managed a successful CPA firm, where I led a dedicated team of professionals, focusing on tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statement preparation. My expertise spans from working with small businesses to streamline operations, manage costs, and enhance profitability, to assisting clients with personal and business financial planning, including cash flow management, budgeting, and debt structure.
I have extensive experience with a wide range of accounting systems, both in design and implementation. I’ve helped clients select, implement, and customize accounting software to fit their specific needs. This includes managing the roll-out of company-wide systems for manufacturing and financial reporting. As a certified reseller of mid-market accounting software, I provided consulting, training, and ongoing support to ensure these systems improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency. Beyond tax and accounting, I offer consulting on business structure, cost management, and pricing strategies to enhance profitability.
With a strong foundation in both accounting and technology, holding a certificate in Cybersecurity Fundamentals for Finance and Accounting Professionals, I am committed to ensuring my clients are well-protected in today’s digital landscape. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, riding motorcycles, and playing guitar. Whether I’m exploring new roads on two wheels, honing my skills at the race track, or getting lost in a great melody, I find these activities provide a balance to the demands of my work. They fuel my creativity and focus and allow me to approach problem-solving with a fresh perspective.

Melissa Burkholder, Administrative Manager
With over two decades of experience in bookkeeping and payroll preparation, I began my career managing the operations of a CPA firm, where I handled finances, assisted with hiring and advertising, and played a key role in organizing, scanning, and processing tax returns. During that time, I also managed client relations, greeting clients both in person and over the phone, and setting appointments. A few years later, I expanded my services to help clients with their bookkeeping and payroll needs, providing reliable and efficient service. Throughout my career, I have built a reputation for being approachable, upbeat, and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
Recently, I became a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with certifications in QuickBooks Online, Advanced QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payroll, further enhancing my expertise in financial management and bookkeeping solutions. I also have familiarity with Gusto payroll. These certifications allow me to offer even more comprehensive services to my clients, ensuring they get the best support possible.
Since 2014, I have managed the meet & greet function at the Uprise Christian Music Festival, a role that aligns with my passion for people and community engagement. Additionally, I hold a current EMT license, further reflecting my commitment to helping others, although it’s been a while since I’ve responded to a call.
In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family—my husband Doug, and our two grown children, Cameron and Mariah. During the summer, Doug and I love taking motorcycle rides, and in the fall, we settle in to watch MotoGP and NFL football.
